ROSSI BLOW FOR VILLARREAL
Rossi - ankle injury.
Villarreal forward Giuseppe Rossi is set to miss the start of the Primera Liga season after picking up an ankle injury in training on Tuesday.
A statement on the Villarreal website, www.villarrealcf.es, confirmed the former Manchester United striker twisted his ankle following a training ground collision with team-mate Marcos Senna.
It read: "Giuseppe Rossi has suffered a sprain in his left ankle during training this morning (Tuesday).
"The Italian player was injured following an accidental collision with Marcos Senna and left the session to be attended to by medical staff.
"If all goes well his predicted recovery time will be between two to three weeks."
The news means he is set to miss Villarreal's clashes with Osasuna and Deportivo La Coruna, and potentially the opening games of the club's Champions League campaign.
