CAPEL THANKS SEVILLA AFTER CALL-UP
Capel - named in Spain's squad.
Diego Capel thanked his colleagues at Sevilla for helping him win a place in new Spain coach Vicente del Bosque's first squad selection on Thursday.
Winger Capel was one of four uncapped players named in Del Bosque's 22-man squad for next Wednesday's friendly against Denmark in Copenhagen, the others being Athletic Bilbao duo Fernando Amorebieta and Andoni Iraola, and Barcelona striker Bojan Krkic.
Capel, who was being tipped for a call-up over the last few days, said of his selection: "I have to thank my team-mates and coaches, as without them this dream would not have been realised," he said.
"I am very happy and I am aware that the standard is very high.
"Although some team-mates have already congratulated me and spoken in the press, until I heard my name I didn't want to get carried away."
The 20-year-old added on the Sevilla website: "I am going to enjoy it, learn and experience everything that I can. This is something that I am not going to forget and I want to thank the new coach for his confidence in me.
"For me, it is going to be very nice to belong to this great generation of players."
