DEL BOSQUE SELECTS BILBAO DUO

Vicente del Bosque - names first squad.

New Spain coach Vicente del Bosque sprang a couple of surprises with his first squad selection on Thursday by calling up uncapped Athletic Bilbao duo Fernando Amorebieta and Andoni Iraola.

Del Bosque, who took over the reins last month following the departure of Euro 2008-winning coach Luis Aragones, also included uncapped youngsters Bojan Krkic and Diego Capel in a 22-man squad for next Wednesday's friendly against Denmark in Copenhagen.

All the members of Spain's successful European Championship team were included, except Cesc Fabregas, Carlos Marchena, Andres Palop, Sergio Garcia and Alvaro Arbeloa, who were either missing due to injury or overlooked.

There was also still no place for Real Madrid captain Raul, Spain's record goalscorer whose last appearance for his country came in 2006 after falling out of favour with Aragones.
