PULIS ENDS ZIGIC PURSUIT
Zigic - will not be joining Stoke.
Tony Pulis has confirmed Stoke's proposed move for Valencia striker Nikola Zigic is dead in the water.
The Premier League newcomers have been linked with the forward, however Los Che this week confirmed another club, believed to be Blackburn, are tracking the player.
Pulis though has now confirmed the Serbia international will not be arriving at The Britannia, but he is confident of strengthening his squad ahead of Saturday's date with Bolton.
Asked if the deal for Zigic was dead, Pulis said: "Yes. It has finished. There will be no further progress," he told Sky Sports News.
"We have got a lot of work to do. We are still trying to get players in.
"We are hoping to bring a couple more in [before Saturday]. Then we have a couple of weeks to move people in, and one or two people will leave as well."
Pulis was also coy on reports that Stoke are lining up an offer for Newcastle United defender Abdoulaye Faye
He said: "We have been linked with loads of players. If we can do it, we will do it. If we can't, we can't."
On Amdy Faye, who has been on trial, Pulis added: "Amdy has trained with us and he has been smashing.
"We have been pleased with his attitude."
