GIOVINCO ON VERGE OF NEW JUVE DEAL

Giovinco - set for a new contract.

Sebastian Giovinco is set to pen a new deal with Juventus next week.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder has been in contract talks with Juve since returning to the club this summer after a successful loan deal at Empoli.

Giovinco's agent, Claudio Pasqualin, confirmed the date of when the new deal will be signed.

"I will be on the 17th (October)," said Pasqualin after a two-hour meeting with Juve sporting director Alessio Secco.

With several European clubs, including Arsenal, having shown an interest in the young star, Juve are keen to tie the player to Turin.

Giovinco, who is under contract with Juve until June 2011, is set to sign a two-year contract extension and his salary will be upped to a reported one million euros per year.

The Italy Under-21 international is one of Europe's finest young talents but is one of the lowest paid players at Juve.
