LAMPARD CHANGED HIS MIND - MOURINHO
Lampard - changed his mind says Mourinho.
Jose Mourinho claims Frank Lampard changed his mind about joining Inter Milan.
Lampard was linked with a move to San Siro for most of the summer, where he would have linked up with his former Chelsea boss.
But eventually he decided to stay at Stamford Bridge and signed a new contract with the Blues.
Mourinho, though, has suggested the England midfielder was close to joining the Nerazzurri before having a change of heart.
He told the club's official website: "When I arrived at Inter I asked the president, Marco Branca, Gabriele Oriali and the club for three players: Mancini, Quaresma and Lampard. The club has given me Quaresma, Mancini, and did everything to get Lampard, and when Lampard changed his mind I said my alternative was Muntari and the club gave me Muntari.
"I have to thank the president and the club and the work done by Marco Branca and Gabriele Oriali. (Laughs) I think those two deserve to go on holiday tomorrow. It's now me and the players who have to do well. I'm very happy with what the president has done to meet my demands.
"As for Ricardo, I have to say that I wanted him for a long time. It wasn't possible with Chelsea, or two months ago with Inter. It has only happened now, on the last day, but he has come at a very important time for us. Our team is now very balanced, with various options for each role and system."
