Join Your Local F365 Five-A-Side Team
The new season is nearly upon us so what better time for you to get off the internet and actually play some footy?
Although the vast majority of F365 Forummers are, as suspected, exercise-shy wastrels, you might be surprised that the Forum has given birth to a host of football teams - some five-a-side, some eleven-a-side - up and down the UK and beyond.
So here's your chance to get involved - and note, although registration for the Forum is now open, you don't actually have to be a member of the Forum to join your Local Rule One team...
Rule One United (London)
Location: We currently play on Monday and Wednesday evenings at Lilian Baylis Technology School, which is located here.
Details: Kick-off times on the Monday are 18:40, 19:10 and 19:40, with each game lasting 30 minutes and costing about £5 per player per game. For Wednesday we have kick-off times of 18:40, 19:20 and 20:00, with games lasting 40 minutes and costing about £6 per player per game. No promotion or relegation from either league, and prices are liable to change on a whim. All games are 6-a-side (1 keeper, 5 outfield, 3 subs).
Players Required: We've had around 30 players turn out for us over the last 12 months, but there's a nucleus of about 15/16 who play the majority of the games. We don't have any particular requirement regarding anyone playing for us - whippets and bloaters are equally welcome. Our performances can range from the sublime to the ridiculous, and then stay ridiculous for quite a reasonable amount of time, so anyone who dwells on losing too much should probably stay away for their own benefit. Wednesday games tend to be followed by a session down the Beehive just round the corner, and Mondays occasionally see the odd pint too.
Important Notice: Apropos of nothing, netball leagues are run on an adjacent pitch during the summer.

Rule One North (Manchester)
Players Required: All types - we are always looking for new faces.
Location: We have two teams - Rule One North and Rule One Manchester - who play 5-a-side at Powerleague, Whalley Range, South Manchester on Thursday nights. Just off the Princess Parkway (check the forum page for a map).
Details: After promotion last year, both teams are now in the same division meaning derby days (like last week) are, ahem, 'fun and games'. Training used to be on Tuesdays at Ardwick Pitz but that has now been superseded by Tuesday training for Briton's Protection 11s. Training is not compulsory to playing Thursdays though.

Rule One Leeds
Players Required: Lacking keepers. Had to drop from Goals Wednesday 6-a-side league due to scarcity of one. If one/two were to come forward we'd probably re-enter the league. Otherwise, anyone in any position is welcome. Skill and fitness levels vary wildly. No super good players, plenty of super bad.
Details: We play at Goals, Kirkstall Road, Leeds every Thursday evening. Usually 6/7-a-side in a friendly manner, plenty of banter. We have 12+ regulars at the moment (probably due to summer) and people play on a first come first served basis by adding their name to the list on the Leeds Rule One thread. Cost £5-6 dependent on how many play. We count two Forum moderators amongst our ranks (and, from time to time, F365 employees), so forum regulars are welcome to come along and kick them in the air and/or throw rotten fruit at them.

Rule One Dublin
Players Required: Anyone with two legs. We don't have members as we're notin a league, its more of a kickabout and a pint after. Standard isn't great so anyone can come along so long as they can kick a ball.
Details: We play in AstroPark, Oscar Traynor Road, Coolock (just off the M1).

Rule One Birmingham
Players Required: Any new players are welcome. Standard is varied, from very good to real hackers, so all players welcome.
History (And Future): Formed in January 2008, after initial interest we set up our own forum to make organising matches easier, we then split into two equal teams and had a head to head league against each other before finally entering a couple of one day tournaments. At the beginning of July we entered our first 5 aside league - the future is bright, the future is Birmingham Rule 1.
Details:We play mostly on a Friday at Birmingham Uni 3G Pitch on the Bristol Road.
We have also entered a team in the Birmingham Uni Sunday League, not doing great at the moment, but that will change! We also have a game on tuesday nights on the water based pitches, which will help us at the league is played on them as well.

Rule One Cardiff
Players Required: Anyone who is interested. The more the merrier. Come Join Us. All standards, sizes and styles welcome!
Details: Five-a-side League games, Wednesday Nights, Gol, Leckwith Avenue (nr the new Ninian Park). Training and practice when we can be arsed. We have a squad of forummers and lurkers, but need new recruits to get large enough to play eleven-a-side.

Players Required: All kind - the team is currently under construction.
Details: The plan is to play at 'world of soccer' at the Edinburgh corn exchange (it's the most central venue available).

Details: The team is just being formed so now is the time to join. Likely to play on either Tuesdays or Wednesdays at Goals by the Beefeater.

Players Required: All kind - the team is currently under construction. All positions and new players welcome.
