COLEMAN BACKS FREDDY FOR RECALL

Eastwood - missed out.

Coventry boss Chris Coleman has backed Freddy Eastwood to get back in the Wales squad after he was left out for the friendly against Denmark.

Eastwood is still trying to find his feet at the Ricoh Arena following his £1.2million summer switch from Midlands rivals Wolves, although his progress has been hindered by a bout of tendonitis.

The 25-year-old has scored just two goals for City this season and has found himself on the bench in recent weeks.

"I imagine Freddy will get back in (the Wales squad) pretty quickly because he is a good player," said Coleman. "He has had to pull out of the last couple of international squads because of tendonitis and I imagine if John Toshack has picked the squad without him it is because the other lads have done well, so he has got to get himself back in there.

"He came from Wolves where he didn't play and then came here where he has done well but he has had a couple of injury problems because his body is not used to it.

"Freddy wants to stay fit for us so he missed a couple of squads and now we have taken him out of the firing line and unfortunately he has lost his place with Wales."
