BLUES BOSS KEEN ON QUASHIE STAY
Quashie - on loan from Hammers.
Birmingham manager Alex McLeish has confirmed he would like to keep West Ham midfielder Nigel Quashie on loan for another month.
Quashie's deal runs out this weekend but the Championship promotion chasers have asked the Hammers if it can be extended until December 28.
The midfielder has made four appearances since his arrival at St Andrew's and has made a good impression, despite his sending off against Charlton last Saturday which has ruled him out of Friday night's game at Swansea.
McLeish told the club's official website: "We're looking at another month again. Nigel made a good contribution last weekend apart from his sending off, which was a wee bit unlucky."
Meanwhile, McLeish has also enquired about the availability of Irish midfielder Keith Fahey, who plays for St Patrick's in the League of Ireland Premier Division.
The 25-year-old former Arsenal trainee was earlier this month named Premier Division Player of the Year for 2008.
