YEUNG STILL KEEN ON BLUES
Yeung - still interested.
David Sullivan has revealed Carson Yeung is still interested in buying Birmingham.
The Hong Kong businessman was eager to take full control of the club late last year but was unable to meet a deadline set by co-owner Sullivan and the Gold brothers, chairman David and Ralph.
Yeung, who holds a 29.9 per cent stake in Blues, indicated over the summer he would consider his future options if talks did not progress.
It was thought Yeung might abandon his takeover plans but Sullivan has now been informed that he remains keen on a buy-out.
However, Sullivan has stressed that he will not sell his 24 per cent stake to Yeung, while the Gold brothers will also keep their 26 per cent stake.
"He's told us he doesn't want to sell and he'd still like to buy us out," Sullivan told the Birmingham Mail.
"But one, we still don't think he would be able to come up with the money and, two, we just don't think he would be accepted by supporters after all that's gone on.
"He doesn't realise how people feel about him over here and there would be no guarantee he would put any finance into the club."
Yeung has not been given a seat on the Blues board and Sullivan admits he would only be allowed to become a director if he had popular support.
Sullivan explained: "If you had a poll and 80 per cent of supporters wanted him then that's fine, we'd give him a seat on the board because you'd have to say 'that's fan power for you'.
"But I just couldn't see that happening. If we're unpopular with supporters, he's unbelievably unpopular.
"We have no intention of selling, it's time for stability now with us in charge."
