TYKES UNDONE BY RHODES STRIKE

Barnsley were hit by a late suckerpunch in their latest friendly against south Yorkshire neighbours Rotherham on Saturday afternoon.

The Tykes spurned plenty of chances at the Don Valley stadium and were undone in the 84th minute when Millers new-boys Reuben Reid and Alex Rhodes combined for the latter to tap home from close range in a 1-0 win.

Luke Steele, who had recovered from a neck and back injury, returned in goal for Simon Davey's side, while summer signing Darren Moore and youngster Jacob Butterfield played the full 90 minutes.
