BRUCE WANTS QUIET DEADLINE DAY
Bruce - no moves for Wigan.
Wigan boss Steve Bruce is not expecting to do any business on transfer deadline day.
This lack of movement is in stark contrast to Bruce's previous activity, with the Wigan boss having made several acquisitions in the transfer market since taking over the Latics hotseat from Chris Hutchings in November 2007.
But he has declared himself now happy with his current squad, which despatched Hull 5-0 on Saturday at the KC Stadium.
His comments should end speculation that Egyptian striker Mido could be heading to the JJB Stadium to team up with compatriot Amr Zaki, with Emile Heskey moving on to Spurs.
Bruce told Wigan Today: "I don't think I will be active today. I don't envisage doing any business at all, I hope not anyway.
"I have been saying for weeks that I'm happy with what I have got, I think I've built up a decent squad here.
"We should have Paul Scharner back from injury soon to strengthen us, it's just a shame we lost Kevin Kilbane to a fractured cheekbone on Saturday.
"He's having an operation and I should think he'll be out for six weeks, you could see the dent in his cheek when it happened.
"It's a shame for the lad because he'd got back in the team against Hull and is a very good player."
