IS BERBA TALKING TO SIR ALEX?
Manchester City have had a £30m-plus bid accepted for Dimitar Berbatov, but the Bulgarian is reported to be in talks with Sir Alex Ferguson.
City boss Mark Hughes - with fresh funds from a takeover funded by an Abu Dhabi investment group - said he was hoping to meet with Berbatov today, but Sky Sports News that Berbatov is in talks with United boss Ferguson.
Ferguson is said by Sky Sports News to have picked up Berbatov personally from the airport, and spent 90 minutes with him at Old Trafford.
United have not had a bid accepted by Tottenham for Berbatov, but the striker has always made it clear that his wish was to move to Old Trafford.
City's bid is thought to be in the region of £37m, with Spanish reports now suggesting that Real Madrid are ready to match that figure in a move that would further muddy the waters betweehn them and United.
But if United can come up with an offer acceptable to Spurs, it seems likely that Berbatov will only end up at one club.
