ARMSTRONG DEAL DONE
Armstrong - signs for Reading.
Reading have completed the signing of left-back Chris Armstrong from Sheffield United.
The 26-year-old joins for an initial fee of £500,000, which could rise to £800,000 depending on appearances and the club's success.
Royals boss Steve Coppell said: "Since the departure of Nicky Shorey we have been looking to supplement the left-hand side of our squad, and the signing of Chris Armstrong has given the opportunity to do that."
Director of football Nicky Hammond added: "Chris is an experienced player who has made more than 200 senior appearances and competed in the top flight.
"We wish him the best of luck and are pleased to welcome him to the club."
Armstrong has been given the number three shirt at the Madejski Stadium, and is expected to make his Royals debut in Saturday's home game against Crystal Palace.
