DOYLE HINTS AT ROYALS EXIT
Doyle - exit hint.
Reading striker Kevin Doyle has hinted he could be set to depart the Madejski Stadium before the close of the transfer window.
Reports on Thursday suggested Aston Villa are interested in signing the Republic of Ireland international as Martin O'Neill looks to bolster his attacking options.
Doyle responded to the speculation by insisting he was in the dark over the rumours, but has now intimated that a deal could be on the horizon.
He said in the Daily Express: "I would expect something to happen before the transfer window closes."
Doyle admits Reading's relegation from the Premier League last season was tough but insists the lessons he learned were invaluable.
He said: "It was very tough, it was difficult last season. But whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
"You are playing against better players, stronger players who are sharper and quicker and it makes you mentally and physically better.
"But it's partly my own fault that I'm not playing at that level, so it is up to me to get myself back there."
The 24-year-old joined Reading from Cork City in 2005, and has netted 37 league goals in 115 appearances since the switch.
