PARKINSON RULES OUT SHELVEY MOVE
Parkinson - dismisses speculation.
Charlton caretaker boss Phil Parkinson has dismissed speculation linking teenage star Jonjo Shelvey with a move away from The Valley.
Newcastle, Middlesbrough and Sunderland have all been linked with 16-year-old midfielder Shelvey, who made his first-team debut at the end of last season and scored for the Addicks Under-18s in their FA Youth Cup victory over Blackburn on Tuesday night.
But Parkinson insists the club have received no approach for Shelvey and insists he is staying put.
"We have heard absolutely nothing from any clubs about Jonjo and we do not want to," Parkinson told the South London Press.
"He is a very talented young player and we want to keep him at Charlton. He has a big future ahead of him here and I don't think it would benefit him to go anywhere else."
