LOANEES SET FOR ADDICKS BOW

LOANEES SET FOR ADDICKS BOW

Parkinson - new Addicks boss.

Deon Burton and Jay McEveley should be added to the Charlton squad for Saturday's Championship clash with Southampton at The Valley.

Striker Burton this week has arrived on loan from Sheffield Wednesday while full-back McEveley is on a three-month deal from Derby - with Addicks frontman Luke Varney leaving in the opposite direction to join the Rams.

Charlton now have seven players on loan and caretaker boss Phil Parkinson can only name five in his match day squad, so two will be disappointed.

Winger Keith Gillespie, another recent loan capture from Sheffield United, will make his home debut.

Centre-half Jonathan Fortune was on the bench at QPR in midweek after two months out with a knee problem and could be involved, but midfielder Zheng Zhi is still out with a foot injury.

Michael Svensson is once again missing from the Southampton squad which travels to Charlton.

Club captain Svensson was on the verge of a comeback following his latest bout of knee trouble, but suffered an Achilles injury playing for the reserves on Wednesday and is out.

Midfielder Jason Euell serves the final game of his three-match ban and striker Tomas Pekhart looks set to miss out with an ankle injury.

Anthony Pulis (foot), Wayne Thomas and Lee Holmes (both knee) are still sidelined but Romain Gasmi is in line for another appearance.

The on-loan Strasbourg midfielder made his debut as a late substitute against Plymouth on Tuesday after recovering from a broken foot, and also featured for the reserves to build up his match fitness.
