WAGHORN SET FOR ADDICKS DEBUT

WAGHORN SET FOR ADDICKS DEBUT

Waghorn: In line for first start

Martyn Waghorn is in line to make his Charlton debut when Sheffield United arrive at The Valley.

The 18-year-old striker has been added to the Addicks squad after completing a one-month loan switch from Sunderland earlier this week.

Andy Gray is likely to start in attack so Waghorn will vie with Luke Varney, Svetoslav Todorov, Lloyd Sam and Hameur Bouazza for attacking places.

Jonathan Fortune (knee) and Therry Racon (foot) played for the reserves in midweek but following lengthy spells on the sidelines they will not be risked against the Blades.

Martin Cranie is back in one piece following England Under-21 duty but Yassin Moutaouakil is likely to keep his place at right-back.

Midfielder Zheng Zhi is still missing with a foot injury.

Kevin Blackwell has several selection dilemmas for Sheffield United.

Darius Henderson (knee) came through unscathed after returning to first-team action off the substitutes' bench last week and fellow striker Danny Webber is also back in contention.

James Beattie and Anthony Stokes, on loan from Sunderland, have started up front in recent weeks, but Billy Sharp is another who provides Blackwell with an alternative option.

Central defender Ugo Ehiogu sits out the second game of a three-match ban, so Matthew Kilgallon will resume his partnership alongside skipper Chris Morgan.

Stokes and Gary Naysmith (groin) were unused substitutes for the Republic of Ireland and Scotland respectively in midweek, with the latter vying with Sun Jihai for a starting place at full-back.
