IRVINE KEEN TO KEEP NOLAN

IRVINE KEEN TO KEEP NOLAN

Irvine - wants to keep Nolan.

Preston boss Alan Irvine is eager to secure a permanent deal for on-loan Blackburn defender Eddie Nolan.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 skipper has joined the Lilywhites on a three-month loan, but Irvine has pledged to review the situation in the January transfer window.

He told the Lancashire Evening Post: "Eddie is a player we are hoping is going to turn out to be a really good signing for us in the long term.

"He has an excellent pedigree and he is someone who we would certainly be interested in bringing here full time.

"But he is not one for right now unless the situation demands - he is here on loan with a view to something more permanent if everything works out."
