NORTH END BOOSTED BY NOLAN

NORTH END BOOSTED BY NOLAN

Irvine - pleased.

Preston have eased their defensive problems by signing Eddie Nolan on loan from neighbours Blackburn until January.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international, 20, who is a regular in the Rovers reserve and youth teams, can play at centre-back or right-back.

Nolan's arrival is timely with Liam Chilvers, Neil Trotman, Michael Hart and Callum Davidson all currently injured.

"He is a young player who has got potential," said North End boss Alan Irvine. "He has a good pedigree.

"We will see how things are between now and January to see whether we take it on further. We are looking at Eddie with an eye on the future."
