DUNNE: HUGHES HAS FINAL SAY

Dunne - says Hughes is in charge.

Richard Dunne believes no players will be leaving Manchester City in the foreseeable future unless manager Mark Hughes authorises the transfer.

Money is reportedly tight at Eastlands after much of owner Thaksin Shinawatra's assets were frozen.

There have been reports that deals to sell Vedran Corluka and Stephen Ireland had been agreed without Hughes' approval, however, Dunne does not believes the boss will sanction any deal unless he deems the player surplus to requirements.

When City's captain was asked if he thought players could be sold behind the manager's back, he said in the News of the World: "It definitely won't be like that. If anyone leaves it will be the manager's decision.

"Mark Hughes won't settle for anything else. That's exactly how every football club should be run. We won't be made weaker by business decisions."

Hughes joined City on a three-year contract early in June and Dunne feels there is no chance of the former Blackburn boss walking away from the post despite the club's off-field troubles.

"I presume it was the manager's belief when he came here that he wouldn't just be coming for one year. He obviously feels he's here for the long haul," he continued.

"There was a lot of shock when Sven Goran Eriksson left. There was a time in the season when he was being offered a job for life, so for that to turn around and him not to have a job at all left the players wondering what was going on.

"I genuinely believe the future is good. The stuff in the paper is nothing new at Manchester City. It happens all the time."
