EASTICK CONFIDENT OF PROGRESS

EASTICK CONFIDENT OF PROGRESS

Eastick - confident side can progress.

England coach Brian Eastick is confident his side will overcome Greece on Sunday to maintain their hopes of reaching the European Under-19 Championship semi-finals.

Although Thursday's goalless draw with Italy left the Three Lions at the bottom of Pool B with one match remaining, Eastick knows his side will qualify for the last four if they win at the weekend and Italy fail to overcome hosts the Czech Republic.

And, after the improvement his side produced against Italy, Eastick is sure England will do their part.

"If we can play as we did against Italy, I am confident we will get the three points," he said.

"Obviously, the situation is out of our hands but if we can do our bit, then at least we can look for the other result knowing we have done our best."

England's problem is fairly easy to spot.

In two games so far, they have yet to score, a situation which must change on Sunday.

The loss of Manchester United starlet Daniel Welbeck to injury before the tournament began has hardly helped.

Eastick though remains confident in his side's ability to find the net.

"We do have goalscorers in this squad," he said.

"Freddie Sears, Victor Moses, Daniel Sturridge and Danny Rose have all proved in the past that they can score at this level.

"Maybe they have not done it so far but I feel that run is bound to end soon."
