The Eh? Gossip

BREAKING NEWS! BREAKING NEWS!
As we sit here tippy-tapping away at our keyboard, word from our extensive network of well-informed contacts (OK, Sky Sports News) is that Robbie Fowler has left Cardiff, and will sign for Blackburn.

Ye gods. And we thought Paul Ince might be a decent manager as well.

Details about that bonkers move here.

INTER BACK IN FOR LAMPARD
The Guardian reports this morning that Inter will once again test what Chelsea are made of by making an improved bid for Frank Lampard.

After their initial offer of £7.95million was given short shrift earlier this week, the paper reports another bid is in the offing, this time worth around £10million.

More on that one here.

DOUBLE SWOOP FOR BIG PHIL?
The Guardian goes on to claim Luiz Felipe Scolari is still interested in signing Robinho from Real Madrid, a rumour The Independent backs up by reporting Chelsea could bid £30million for the Brazilian.

However, Chelsea are apparently suspicious that Robinho's agent is simply trying to play the club off Madrid for his own dastardly means.

The Indy also reports that Scolari is interested in David Villa, and might have a clear run at the Spaniard after Liverpool were priced out of a move.

VILLA AND SPURS WRESTLE FOR BENTLEY
Word in The Daily Express this morning claiming that Aston Villa will be followed by Spurs with a £10million bid for David Bentley.

However Rovers, presumably needing the cash to beef up their treatment room after the signing of Fowler, will reportedly demand around £17million.

Details and such on that one here.

Meanwhile, most of the papers this morning seem reasonably convinced that Spurs are all set to sign Espanyol striker Luis Garcia for between £8million to £10million, but whether or not he will be Robbie Keane's replacement or teammate remains to be seen.

STRIKERS IN AT ARSENAL
The Sun seem pretty convinced about their theory on who will replace Emmanuel Adebayor.

They reckon it will be River Plate striker Radomal Falcao, who they quote as saying: "I know there is interest from Arsenal and that excites me.

"If there is an agreement between the clubs I'm ready to go. It would mean a huge leap forward in my career.

"I can guarantee my financial future. The Premier League is sensational."

Meanwhile, The Daily Star still reckon Klass-Jan Huntelaar will be the man filling Adebayor's shoes, and that Arsenal will pay £18million for the Dutch striker.

Finally, The Daily Express claims AC Milan will add French midfielder Yoaun Gourcuff into their bid for Adebayor, as Arsene Wenger is apparently a big fan. So now you know.

VILLA AND CITEH DUKE IT OUT FOR FRIEDEL
Interesting line in The Daily Mirror this morning, who claim Aston Villa have made a cheeky £2.5million bid for Blackburn keeper Brad Friedel.

However, they have a fight on their hands apparently, with Mark Hughes understandably keen to take the excellent Friedel to Manchester City with him.

Worth keeping an eye on that one.
