COPPELL RELIEVED TO AVOID EXODUS
Coppell - kept squad together.
Reading manager Steve Coppell admits he is glad to see the back of this summer's transfer window after fearing the loss of his best players.
Media speculation suggests the Royals were inundated with last minute transfer deadline-day bids for highly-regarded duo Stephen Hunt and Kevin Doyle.
Meanwhile, James Harper's rumoured switch to Middlesbrough also failed to materialise and Coppell is delighted his squad is no longer vulnerable to Premiership approaches.
"It's tiring in as much as you can see three or four weeks of planning go out of the window," Coppell told The Reading Evening Post.
"We didn't lose anybody on transfer deadline day, but if somebody had come in strong, I wouldn't have been able to do anything about it."
