CARDIFF CONFIRM STADIUM PROGRESS

Jones - will take Cardiff to a new stadium.

Cardiff have revealed significant progress is being made as their new stadium continues to be built just a stone's throw away from Ninian Park.

The new 25,000-seater arena, which will be home to both the Bluebirds and rugby union side Cardiff Blues, is due to be completed in time for the opening day of next season.

And Paul Norman, project leader at construction firm Laing O'Rourke, told the club's official website: "Things are going very well. We've completed the structural steel on the roof and also the concrete around the perimeter, so, all in all, last week we hit some quite significant milestones

"It's an impressive stadium, and I think you get to fully appreciate it when you see it from the inside.

At the end of this week all the pre-cast elements will be in in the North Stand and some of the seats and seating rails have also been installed already."
