ELOKOBI OUT OF ROTHERHAM CLASH

ELOKOBI OUT OF ROTHERHAM CLASH

Elokobi - misses out.

Wolves will be without George Elokobi for their Carling Cup second round tie at Rotherham.

The former Colchester defender suffered suspected knee ligament damage in Saturday's 2-0 victory at Ipswich and is expected to be out for several months.

The loss of Elokobi represents a serious blow for Wolves boss Mick McCarthy, who is already set to be without influential skipper Jody Craddock (broken foot) for around three months.

McCarthy told the club's official website: "We were looking for players anyway, but of course we will have to now because neither Jody nor George will be playing for quite a while."

Lewis Gobern is another absentee due to a long-term knee problem, while goalkeeper Matt Murray has yet to reach full fitness following 14 months out with a cruciate knee ligament injury.

Rotherham boss Mark Robins has a doubt over captain Pablo Mills.

Mills missed the 3-1 win over Chester on Saturday due to a virus and Robins will be hoping he can recover in time to face Mick McCarthy's men.

Defender Marc Joseph also missed out at the weekend due to illness and is a doubt for the Millers.

Rotherham have made a fine start to the season, but Robins knows they face a difficult test against Wolves.

"We know it will be tough so we need to be on our game," he told the club's official website.

"Wolves have made a good start and they have millions of pounds worth of players at their disposal, so we are just hoping that they might rest one or two."
