BLUEBIRDS SWOOP FOR GYEPES
Gyepes - clause in contract triggered.
Cardiff have signed Northampton defender Gabor Gyepes for an undisclosed fee.
Manager Dave Jones has been searching for a central defender since Glenn Loovens completed his move to SPL champions Celtic earlier this week, and highlighted the former Wolves man as a suitable replacement.
Gyepes signed for the Cobblers in January after nearly two years out with a serious knee injury and penned a one-year deal in the summer to stay at Sixfields.
However, after returning to full fitness Gyepes has shown the form which saw him a regular in the Championship and will now return to that level.
Northampton chairman David Cardoza said: "We knew when he joined us that we were signing a quality player who, if he regained his fitness, had the ability to play at a higher level.
"Once Cardiff offered us a figure which triggered a release clause in his contract we were duty bound to let them talk to him."
