SHITTU SIGNS FOR BOLTON

SHITTU SIGNS FOR BOLTON

Shittu - has joined Bolton.

Bolton have confirmed they have completed a deal to sign defender Danny Shittu from Championship side Watford for an undisclosed fee.

The 27-year-old Nigerian, who had spells with Blackpool and QPR before he moved to the Hornets, has signed an initial three-year deal after a move to Rangers fell through earlier in the summer.

Shittu was Gary Megson's fourth signing of the close season, and the Trotters boss told the club's official website: "Danny's a mountain of a man, he's aggressive, he's quick and his biggest strength is in the air.

"Anybody who has seen him play will know his defensive qualities already, plus he is dangerous from set-pieces as well.

"There was something agreed with Glasgow Rangers but the deal didn't go through and there had been another couple of offers from a Premier League club and a top Championship club so we are really pleased to have him here."
