NUGENT PLANS TO STAY AT POMPEY
Nugent - wants to stay at Portsmouth.
David Nugent has played down talk linking him with a move away from Portsmouth by insisting he wants to stay at Fratton Park.
The 23-year-old's future at Pompey has been the subject of speculation all summer after he failed to establish himself as a regular in Harry Redknapp's plans last season.
Ipswich are keen on signing the former Preston striker, while Premier League new boys Hull and Stoke have also been credited with an interest in Nugent.
Nugent has ruled out a move to Ipswich revealing he wants to prove he can hold his own in the Premier League.
"I want to stay and prove I can cut it in the Premier League," Nugent told The Sun.
