MEGSON HOPES FOR O'BRIEN DEAL

MEGSON HOPES FOR O'BRIEN DEAL

O'Brien - Megson hopes he'll sign.

Gary Megson is hoping Andy O'Brien will join Kevin Davies in signing a new contract at Bolton.

Davies is ready to commit his future to the Trotters, with the striker aiming to put pen to paper before Saturday's opening game of the season with Stoke.

Bolton boss Megson is happy to be hanging on to Davies, who was recently targeted by Premier League new-boys Hull.

And he now wants to see experienced centre-half O'Brien also agree a new deal at the Reebok Stadium.

"We are very keen for them to stay," said Megson in The Sun.

O'Brien joined Bolton from Portsmouth 12 months ago and made 42 appearances for the club last season.
