WENGER KEEPING SENDEROS
Senderos - going nowhere.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has rejected reports linking Philippe Senderos with a move to Newcastle.
Weekend reports suggested Newcastle were lining up a move for Senderos and could even offer Shay Given in a swap deal.
Wenger, though, has rubbished the rumours and says he has no plans to sell the Swiss international.
Asked if he had heard anything from Newcastle about Senderos, Wenger told Sky Sports News: "Nothing, no.
"I will not react because we want to keep our best players.
"We are going in to a season now and we have to have everybody focused on our targets.
"If we can bring in one more player we will do it, if not we will go with the squad we have, I am happy with that.
"We have to now continue to be focused on our targets."
Wenger also believes the best way for Emmanuel Adebayor to silence any doubters is by scoring goals.
Adebayor scored the winner in Sunday's 1-0 victory over Real Madrid to turn Saturday's jeers from the Juventus game to cheers.
The Togo international insists he is happy at Arsenal and is ready to sign a new long-term deal after a summer of speculation linking him with a move away from Emirates Stadium.
Wenger is confident all the rumours will soon be forgotten about if Adebayor continues to find the net for Arsenal this season.
"I feel Adebayor felt people questioned his commitment a little bit and the best answer always is to give on the pitch," added Wenger.
"You play well and show you are ready to fight for your shirt and your team. He does that. He is a man with character.
"You know how it is. If you score goals people forget quickly their frustration.
"You have to show it with performances in this job."
