HARRIS KEEN FOR REGULAR ACTION

Queen of the South defender Bob Harris is hoping the club's UEFA Cup tie against Danish outfit Nordsjaelland will not be a one-off experience.

The Irn-Bru First Division club are surprise representatives from Scotland, making their first foray into Europe after reaching the Scottish Cup final against Rangers last season.

In the draw made in Nyon on Friday, Queens were paired with the Danish side with the first leg on August 14 to be played at Airdrie's Excelsior Stadium due to inadequate seating numbers at Palmerston.

While the likelihood of the Doonhamers reaching Europe again is unlikely, the former Clyde player, 20, wants the second qualifying round tie to be just the "first of many" in his career.

"It's the sort of thing that players dream about and it might be a once in a lifetime chance", he said.

"For me at such a young age, it's going to be a great occasion.

"But it's also going to be a great occasion for the whole club.

"I want to make the most of my career and to play in Europe more often would be great.

"If this is the only time that it comes along then I want to make the most of it.

"But I'm keeping my fingers crossed that if I stick in, then hopefully it will be the first of many.

"Obviously we don't know what we are going to face, we don't know much about them yet.

"But we will go about our normal business, do what we do before any other game in terms of preparation and take it as it comes."
